I've tried pushing it back in passed the bunker edge with a leveler but it just falls right back out when I back up. I initially thought the same thing, but after watching a few youtube videos and one of them doing a test on compactors I gave the webber a try and it was indeed insane compared to the others. I figured the height of the bunker would be the fill level and it just completely stopped letting me dump when I got to that level as for the stuff that is outside I've tried pushing it back in passed the bunker edge with a leveler but it just falls right back out when I back up. There is no real set fill level, there is an upper height you can go to, and lengthwise you have to the edges of the bunk itself, use a leveler to push any that travels outside back in. I'm assuming it still compacts a little as I back in over it and then drive out. And as for the trailer tip I got one of the bunkers that are only open on one end so I can't really drag my trailer through it. ![]() I filled it up to what I assumed was full before starting the compacting process I'll try compacting as I dump next time. Additionally doing this, depending on trailer you are using you have the additional weight of the trailer to help you compact if you drag it through. It also helps if you compact with each load you dump in, not necessarily completely but at least 50%. I'm Using the Holaras Stego 485 Pro I went with it because it was 4.9m and I assumed that the bigger the width the faster it'll compact but if the Webber one is better I'll definitely swap to it. That being said, are you using the webber compactor? (one with PTO option) I found it is by far superior to the others. I'm only using one compactor at the moment was thinking about getting a second but if you haven't seen a noticable difference then I think I'll just stay with the one. Not saying it doesn't work, just not sure that it does. I've used front and rear compactors and didn't really see a noticeable difference. Would appreciate any advice on using silage bunkers what to do to speed up the process if any and what to avoid. I'm wondering if there is any way to speed this up? Will heavier equipment compact faster than light equipment (the tractor I'm using is 11.4t plus a 3.9t silage compactor) or would adding a second silage compactor help? Finished filing it up, or at least I think it's full there's no max capacity displayed only the current capacity is shown, I'm assuming it's full as it won't make the pile any higher than where it's at also unsure how far forwards I can go as there's no clear markings on where the "inside" of the bunker is and where it ends (the area that'll be covered)Īnyway I started the compacting process and it's painfully slow even with a silage compactor (which supposedly compacts faster than without) it's slow. ![]() For the first time ever I decided to give the silage bunkers a go, normally I'll just do silage bales to get silage (and more recently in 22 I'll use productions) but I figured I'd mess around with the bunkers this time around.
